In 2012 Tongue Fu and live literature producers renaissance one were commissioned by TheSpace.org – a new BBC/ACE arts website – to make some poetry films. We called them Tongue Fu Flicks. You can watch a little trailer here
In June 2012 we held a recording event at the Albany, Deptford to record performances from Scroobius Pip, Kate Tempest, Salena Godden, Zena Edwards, Shane Solanki and Chris Redmond. We also recorded the band performing instrumental response pieces; poets performing solo and interviews with performers and audience.
David Cuesta – TF designer and CR&D head honcho had access to the BBC archive to source footage for six bespoke collage animations – one for each poem. CR&D also developed a media player that sits within our pages on The Space so you can choose how you want to watch, read or listen to the recordings. The Space is currently offline but will relaunch in Spring/Summer 2014. We will shortly be posting some of the files on this site.
